Politics and the Modernity: Ideological-political Development, Activities, and Turning Points in the Slovenian Politics from the End of the 19th Century to World War II

The two main political forces that decisively defined the Slovenian history between the end of the 19th century and World War II in Slovenia – the side of the political Catholicism and the liberal side – shaped and implemented their ideological, political, national-cultural, and socio-economic principles through different historical positions and party organisations during this period. The Catholic side was permanently focused on a nationwide and monopolistic assertion of its values in all spheres of life and based on the exclusion of everything that was contrary to it. This was also the experience of the liberal side, which reacted to the Catholic side’s pursuit of the general domination by defending its identity principles.
